We the People
FROM ME TO YOU
I am thankful to my
readers for appreciating my earlier poems published in various
magazines. Poetry details the complex realities of life. I do feel a poem
is like a painting which is understood by the reader's own perceptions and
attitude.
My relationship with
words has been pretty long. Life has been rather intensely
individualistic so the poems are free of illusions, a bit rootless but
sensitive and correlate to the times and life each one of us is passing
through. These are free moving poems vividly telling their imagery and
emotion poised in apprehension, intelligent uncertainty and complexity of
feeling as a result some poems may seem tantalizingly obscure but each poem is
firm and worth your attentions.
I hope my latest poems
would be acceptable in the hours of recreation and pleasure.
The demons and devils of our time
-----------
WE THE PEOPLE
Staring at daily news
Filled with ruins
Of our eroded values
The unending eclipse
Surrounding us
Our country gave us Mahatma Gandhi
And non-violence to the world
Today smsing generation is stretched
By the strings of selfish opportunism
The leaders have become the bleeders
Today Kuber the lord of wealth is the only God
And Lakshmi is the only woman
The dead end docility
Becoming silent majority
The unruly and unconcerned
Set on self destruction
Letting daily chores
Dull our souls
To the planned genocide
With prejudiced priorities
The self centered people
Allow values to become the red-spit
Of pan-chewers to bloody walls
There is no "they"
And there is no "them"
It's we - we the people
All of us are to be blamed
Haven't we become the modern demons
The Mahishasurs
Ready to swallow to destroy our world
Let's open our hearts and our minds
Bring back the times
When values had value
Beyond the borrowed assumptions
Let us churn our psyche, our souls
Seek out The Durga
The Mardini in each one of us
To conquer and quell
It's we
Yes it's we the people
We can do it
We can do it
Yes we will
Yes we can
Yes we can

Poem We The People clearly reflects the times we are passing through.
Beautiful 👌It vividly describes the changed times, attitudes, self-centredness and, the opportunism of the younger generation...
